| Washington, D.C. is a wonderful place, in part for its history, its legends and storied past, but more for the dynamism of the present and for our dreams for the future. It is especially a place of wonder for those who stand firmly on all history and principle and speak for the people they represent. Barbara Lee loves Washington, and the work we sent her there to do. In times such as these she serves as a beacon for truth as she seeks to root out those areas of darkness some would have remain hidden, to bring those things out of the darker recesses of our capitol into the light of day. She is tireless in holding her constituents as primary, especially those that current leaders seem to have forgotten: women, children, the elderly, and the disabled and challenged. Barbara Lee speaks most eloquently for me, and I was honored to have been invited to be present to chronicle the event... |

The thing about Barbara is that she is one of the people, one from your home town, from your neighborhood. Admirer and supporter, Harry Belafonte said of her: You represent all of us, whether we're from your district or not - you represent all of America....She looks you in the eye when she converses with you, and more's to the point and especially, when she listens to you. She takes everything to heart, and amazingly it is from the heart that she takes her being and moves and works with others to do the business of the land. Would that more in Washington were of the same moral fibre, of the same heart, the same bent for the truth, and the same deep commitment to the founding principles of our great land...
