Barbara and I have taken a number of trips along with our vacations, touring vacations they were....We've visited a variety of places, the American southwest being one of our favorites. It doesn't matter where we've traveled, we have always found something about the locale to touch our hearts, visually and emotionally... The shot above wasn't during one of our trips - it came out of a beginning workshop I took through a local evening school class on lighting....you can see the time of day just before sunrise on the Campanile on the Cal campus - this is one of my favorite times of day for photography...

In early May of 1996 Barbara and I traveled to Banff, Alberta, Canada - it snowed the first night we were there, and the scenics took on a touch of fall unusual for the time of year - a winter wonderland in May...

Ashland, Oregon is a place Barbara and I visit twice a year for the ambience and excellent plays, a plus on both counts - one day my daughter and I went out for an early morning photo shoot, and found ourselves in a light drizzle....here's one that turned up in my catches of the day...

Along the main drag entering the little town of Taos from Santa Fe is a little shop devoted to the saucy side of man, to those spicy hot tidbits that burn twice...! - and parked out front, another hot number...

Land of the Midnight Sun...- was taken during a photo tour in July '96 to the north slopes of the Brooks Range, in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge inside the Arctic circle - 10 weeks rafting down the Canning River from its headwaters to within 5 miles of the Beaufort Sea and the Arctic Ocean - this was midnight one day midway through the trip, although this is deceptive in that it was actually as light as midafternoon where I was standing...
